Hi!
I’m Teresa, a social worker focused on neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ affirming social and emotional wellness.
My work centers on helping people understand their sensory needs, stimulation patterns, and masking so they can build lives that feel more regulated, more sustainable, and more like themselves.
As someone who is part of both the neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ communities, I deeply understand the experience of moving through the world feeling overstimulated, misunderstood, or like you have to perform to be accepted. That lived experience shapes how I show up in this work; with empathy, honesty, and zero expectation that you should have to be anyone other than who you are.
I have both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work and have worked in nonprofits, private practice, schools, and colleges. Those experiences taught me how differently people think, process, struggle, and thrive. Over time, my approach naturally shifted away from “fixing behaviors” and moved toward understanding nervous systems, sensory experiences, and the impact of masking.
In our sessions, I use a mix of normalization, validation, empowerment, gentle challenging, and a lot of practical insight. I’m not here to talk at you or judge you. I’m here to help you understand how your brain and body work so you can build supports that actually make daily life easier.
Outside of sessions, I can be found napping with my Tuxedo cat Millie, watching movies, getting a tattoo or piercing, or being out in nature
